Today we worked on more conics. Mostly concentrated on the sketching part and identifying domain, range, minor/major axis, verticies and centre. This is junk is not too terribly impossible but it looks crazzyyy.

So, we did some completing the square work. We learned this in grade 11. (apparently) Only now at the end we decide if its parabola, hyperbola, circle or ellipse. Its upsetting i tell ya.

In order to make an apple pie from scratch you must first create the universe.

We started the CONE-NICS unit. I find this very confusing but then again, whaat dont i find confusing. I finished some more accelerated math on the most recent binomial theroem. Booyaa.

Sorry about the terrible blog last time. I'm kinda disappointed with myself. Today we did logarithmic word equations. It's mostly plugging in numbers to new formulas. But it's still really hard. Neeeeeddd to catch up but I can't.

So hey, we are deciding when we should have our test. Skipping it for this week sounds wonderful. I am lost. :(. Should rewealllyy get this done. But it's so hard to get started. I am lazy and unmotivated. I can admit it. I need to get back on the exercises. And accelerated math apparently. Ay yi yi.

Today, on this fine november day, we solved logarithmic exponential problems. Reeaaallllly confusing considering I didn't do/ understand the previous material. Should get on that. Soon. These laws confuse the heck outta me. Yikes.

Logarithmic Functions (How to cut down trees)

Yesterday we were exposed to the use of exponents. The class was only 40 mins so we just hard a work class. Today we did more things with logarithmic functions.

In the duration of this math class, we did more trig identities. We learnt about double ANGLE identities. This stuff is crazy. Crazy. Crazy. im confused. It makes me NERVOUS. Lots of homework for the weekend. Shoot.

This is all just crazy. This stuff is unbelievable. URG. Hitting up tutoring for sure. I don't really get this identity BS. Hoping to just use the formula sheet to get me through this whole unit. Yikes.

So, we learned about Extraneous Roots which is finding all solutions and checking which ones work. It's all relavent to proving identities. This is stuff is still kinda confusing to me but I'm trying. I find that in class I spend so much time trying to copy down the notes fast eniough that I'm not really learning what's there then I don't understand how we got to the next part. I should work on that. Farewell for now!

Sup?

So tuesday we had a review for the test. I worked on the test from last year to help me study. Yesterday we wrote the test for transformations. I don't think I did that good but better than last time. Today we're working on catching up on assignments. I'm working on accelerated math. Might actually finish one. Exercise 12 and 13 are due for the weekend. Peace.

HW cheque

Today I got a speeding ticket. Ouchers. $278. On top of that I 0.13 on my homework check. Fabulous. Trying to get my priorites straight to get everything done. Not working out so well. More effort is needed, ya ya I know.

Absolute Value Solutions

Also known as piece-wise fuctions. This means that all the functions can be broken down into certain pieces. Absolute value functions are piece-wise functions. Steps can be used, 1 consider the graph, 2 bounce negative bits to make them non negative. I kind of understand but just need to practise.

Ouch.

So I'm kinda behind on these things. This material we're learning is really complaicated. Just when I think I understand, I go to do the exercises and it doesnt work for me. Monday was Horizontal and Vertical stretches and compressions. We had diagrams displaying this. Exercise 9 was about reflections, inverses and symetry. Its wayyyy hard.

Long time no see!

I haven't wrote in here for forever!! So last tuesday was just a ketchup day to clear up any questions about the test. Wednesday there was no class because of early dismissal. Thursday was the test which I bombed HARD. And today, we learned aobut translations. Translations are every point in the relation that moves the same distance and same direction.

Kinda UNDERSTAND, maybe. Kinda. Sorta. Nope, lost it.

Manic Monday

Today we had Mr. Penner as a sub, we were to work on our accel. math and finish exercises while doing a review. I worked on my accelerated math which is extremely hard it seems. I hope I get it done in time but it is highly doubtful. I think i will go to tutoring tomorrow.

TGIF

Today we learned how to graph trig functions. It's pretty tricky. We used graphmatica mostly to demonstrate. We made a chart of values. i kinda understood. but not really. dont get your hopes up

I'm so lost!!! this stuff is really hard! i hate to be a whiner but i am and i dont like not being able to understand but thats life in this class everyday.

So we learned new examples for exercise 4+5. I'm not quite at that point of work but I'm trying. Still working on the chart, struggling through it. Finding it hard to put together time to get done homework :S

Ketchup

Today no new material was taught. It's a day to catch up. We were told we should start being close to being done accelerated math. I am not very close to being done that. I barely have a few questions done but now that I understand more i may be able to do more now. I'm working on my chart and slowly understanding it. After that i have quite a bit more work to get caught up on. Holla.

I understand more today. I started my chart. We did examples and I almost sorta followed for once. Weird. I still need help but it's getting better

Circular functions

I am really, really lost in this class. I need to go to tutoring and catch up. I knew kind of how to do the radian business but all this other stuff is foreign. It's frustrating because there is never enough class time to get help. I need to put in more effort i guess. The exact values are really confusing. I can't say I've solidly learned anything new in the last week,but I did miss a day.
